Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will pay a two-day visit to Kazakhstan on Wednesday, RIA Novosti reports.
In Astana, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry will hold negotiations with his Kazakh counterpart Murat Nurtleu.
During the meeting, special attention will be paid to the preparation of the planned state visit of the President of Russia to Kazakhstan Vladimir Putinwho accepted the invitation of the head of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visit the republic again in November of this year.
The Kazakh leader invited his Russian colleague to combine the visit with participation in a meeting of the Supreme Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
Furthermore, during the negotiations the ministers will address both the current bilateral agenda and international issues and will consider interaction in the EAEU, CSTO, CIS and SCO.
Lavrov will also meet with teachers and students from one of the universities in the Kazakh capital.
