Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Moscow has no intention of taking part in peace summits related to Ukraine.
Oku.Az This is reported with reference to RIA Novosti.
This was his comment on Volodymyr Zelensky’s statement that he intended to hold a second peace summit in November and invite Russia.
“Representatives of Russia have not participated in any meetings within the framework of the Burgenstock process and do not intend to participate,” Zakharova said.
He noted that the second summit has the same goal: to present the completely impossible “Zelensky formula” as an alternative basis for conflict resolution, to gain the support of the world majority and to present a proposal to Russia on its behalf.
“We do not participate in summits that give an ultimatum to surrender,” he stressed.
According to Zakharova, Moscow is not giving up on a political and diplomatic solution to the crisis and is ready to discuss serious proposals that take into account the situation on the ground and emerging geopolitical realities.
“A fair and sustainable solution cannot be achieved without Russia and without taking its interests into account,” the diplomat said.
