Russian LNG supplies to China have increased

According to data from the General Administration of Customs (GTU) of the People’s Republic of China, in September supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia to China increased by 13% compared to August, up to 980 thousand tons, TASS reports.

Updated statistics from the department indicate that the value of imports increased by 20%, to $610 million. At the same time, in three quarters, the figure decreased by 11% year-on-year and amounted to 3.56 billion dollars. decreased compared to the same period in 2023 by 2.7%, up to 6 million tons.

Russia ranks third among China’s LNG suppliers. Australia occupies first place in the ranking of its exporting countries to China: in nine months it sold 19.47 million tons to the republic (an increase of 12.6%).

Qatar follows (approximately 13 million tons, an increase of 8.5%). Fourth place is occupied by Malaysia (an increase of 15% to 5.97 million tons). The United States is in fifth place (just over 3 million tons, an increase of 45%).
