“Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan blocks possibility of signing peace deal”
According to “Report”, Russian political scientist Sergey Markov told reporters about this.
He pointed out the need to amend the Armenian Constitution to exclude any territorial claims against Azerbaijan, but according to the political scientist, even this process is artificially delayed.
“Nikol Pashinyan decided to postpone the amendment to the Constitution until 2027, which is a provocation,” said S. Markov.
He believes that Nikol Pashinyan is trying to maintain the illusion of a conflict in the region in order to receive more military aid. “This is necessary, among other things, to attract military missions to the South Caucasus region, to deliver more weapons to Pashinyan and to establish bases for Western countries, primarily France and the United States,” he said.
According to the political scientist, Yerevan is trying to destabilise the South Caucasus region. “This forces all countries in the region – Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkey, Iran and perhaps even Georgia – to unite in order to prevent Armenia from playing a completely destructive role,” he added.
S. Markov also stressed that the former OSCE Minsk Group continues to support separatism in Azerbaijan:
“This is a political corpse. Of course, the Minsk Group should be abolished.”
