Russian soldiers fought for two months to break out of the siege in the Kursk region

Russian soldiers, who were in the rear of the Ukrainian army after the attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Kursk region, were able to escape from the encirclement after two months. Military man Maxim Andreev spoke about this in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to him, the Russian military heard sounds of enemy equipment approaching the border.

“Then the sergeant major gave the order to “fight”, to disperse to our positions. We sat and waited all day, listening to the enemy team. “We were preparing for the enemy soldiers to attack now.” – said Andreev.

After some time, a message came that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had broken through the positions of the neighboring platoon. The next day, the foreman gathered the soldiers and ordered them to prepare to leave the encirclement.

The soldiers decided to divide into small groups and cross forests and fields towards the Russian positions. By this time, the fighters were already far behind enemy lines.

According to Maxim, from time to time Russian soldiers were so close to the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that they could understand what they were saying. For more than two months, the soldiers took refuge in forests and villages. Civilians who were in enemy-occupied territory helped the Russian fighters, brought water and food, and reported the location of the Ukrainian army.

It was possible to escape the encirclement after the rapid advance of the Sever group. The soldiers received all necessary assistance on the spot and were then evacuated to the rear.
