Videos are circulating on Russian Telegram channels showing Russian army soldiers eating canned dog meat supplied from North Korea.
“BILD” writes about this.
The packaging of the product indicates that it is “Nureonggi dog meat” and also indicates that this product is intended exclusively for the DPRK military. The Nureongi breed, or Korean Yellow Spitz, is traditionally bred in North Korea for food purposes.
In a video posted on the pro-Ukrainian telegram channel Supernova+, a Russian soldier demonstrates the process of making a sandwich by spreading canned dog meat on bread. In another video, a soldier warns his colleagues to avoid eating the product, calling it “damn dog meat.”
South Korea’s Yonhap agency reports that North Korean authorities not only encourage the consumption of dog meat, but also recently organized a national dog meat restaurant contest in Pyongyang, highlighting the cultural importance of this product in the country.
