Russians executed a Ukrainian soldier with a sword, representing “revenge for Kursk”: chilling images

This is not the first time that Russian soldiers have executed a Ukrainian prisoner of war. The incident was reported by the Verkhovna Rada Human Rights Commissioner Dmitry Lubinets on Telegram on Tuesday, September 17.

“Another war crime: the Russians executed an unarmed Ukrainian prisoner of war with his hands bandaged with a sword. The level of barbarism and bloodlust is impossible to comprehend,” he wrote.

At the same time, Lubinets stressed that such actions are a gross violation of the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War, according to which “the world is simply watching how Russia neglects norms and laws.”

The Ombudsman said he had sent letters to international bodies, the ICRC and the UN to report yet another human rights violation by Russia.

“I would like to separately note that these demonstrative executions are aimed at demoralizing Ukrainian society. However, seeing such actions, we must be even more determined in the fight against the aggressor,” Lubinets stressed.

Images of the horrific death appeared on social media shortly before the Ombudsman’s statements.

Earlier, Kursor reported that during the large-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia not only killed the local population, but also sold grain grown by Ukrainians, making a lot of money on it. It is believed that the total amount of money received for the sold wheat exceeds one billion dollars.

The business scheme involves a vast network of clients, including companies involved in the Russian invasion as well as Crimean businessmen. Markets for Crimean grain include Yemen and Iran, while Egypt, Israel and Lebanon stopped buying after discovering the theft.
