The expert of the corporate rating group ACRA, Anton Trenin, confirmed that not only for the New Year holidays, but also in the next 5-7 years, one should not expect a decrease in prices for red caviar. RIA Novosti reports on this today, November 6.
Trenin associated this trend with a limited supply and a decrease in the volume of catches, which affects the increase in costs for processors.
“WARPE forecasts for the next 5 to 7 years suggest that record salmon runs are not expected. ACRA believes that this can keep caviar prices under pressure (prevent them from falling – ed.) in conditions of more limited supply. Furthermore, a decrease in catches also leads to an increase in costs for processors.” – Trenin confirmed.
The ACRA representative also recalled that starting next year it is planned to increase taxes in the fishing industry, including the indexation of collection rates for the use of aquatic biological resources along with an increase in payment for fishing areas. Hence the forecast for the next five years.
