An unusual service – turning the ashes of deceased loved ones into real diamonds is gaining popularity in the Russian capital.
Oku.AzThe “Koroche” channel “Telegram” reported about this.
It has been reported that more and more Muscovites are willing to pay huge sums of money to perpetuate the memory of their deceased relatives in such an extravagant way. Thus, the price of a “commemorative diamond” starts at 5,000 euros (approximately 9.4 thousand manats).
Experts explained the high price by the fact that the process of creating gemstones from human ashes is an extremely complex and labor-intensive process: first, pure carbon is extracted from the ashes and then converted into graphite. And only after that, a real diamond grows from graphite, which the polishers turn into a brilliant diamond.
It was also highlighted that although it is expensive, demand for the service increases every month.
However, lawyers have warned that such behavior with the ashes of a deceased person can be considered an insult to the bodies of the deceased. However, in Russia there has been no precedent holding “memorial diamonds” accountable.
