Russian diplomats are working to release Russian citizens detained in the Gaza Strip. This was stated by the Russian ambassador to Qatar, Dmitry Dogadkin, on November 8 in an interview with TASS.
He recalled that in November of last year the release of three Russian citizens was achieved: Elena Trufanova, Irina Tatti AND twisted rum. Dogadkin noted that in the Palestinian enclave there are still Alexander Trufanov AND Maxim Kharkin.
“We are actively working in this direction with all parties involved.” – pointed out the diplomat.
The ambassador drew attention to the fact that after the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in October 2023, the Russian Embassy in Qatar became one of the channels of communication with the political bureau of the Palestinian movement Hamas.
“It is no secret that indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel are taking place in Doha, in addition to Cairo. For our part, we are in constant contact with the Palestinians.” – Dogadkin clarified.
