Sabotage or nonsense? A PEC member with the right to cast a decisive vote “got into” the system of the Moscow City Election Commission

Cybersecurity officers of the Moscow City Election Commission have recorded an attempt to disrupt the voting system ahead of the Moscow City Council elections, which will be held on September 6-8, the Baza Telegram channel reports.

“According to the source, a member of the district election commission (PEC) No. 2304 with the right to a decisive vote, a member of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Maxim Dubinny connected his personal laptop to the polling station’s closed network while on duty,” – writes TK.

It is noted that “a preliminary check recorded an attempt to learn details of the network configuration of the city’s electronic electoral system infrastructure, which constitutes, at the very least, a serious violation of the PEC’s information security regulations.”

“According to the source, Dubinny has been suspended from work and a further investigation into the incident is underway. Information about his actions has also been passed on to the FSB.” – adds “Base”.
