Sadeco processes the building permit for the urbanization of the future green pole of Cordoba

The future green pole of Sadéco on the land of the Lobatón complex (today the Juan Revilla complex) begins to become a reality with the urbanization of the new land that will be used to accommodate the environmental project (Sadeco 5.0.) of the municipal company.

As ABC learned, the Licensing Commission The Department of Urban Planning will give building authorization next Tuesday (November 12) for the development of these lands in order to expand the current facilities next to the N-432. Some work which will cost approximately 3 million euros. Sadeco’s plans also include an intervention to refine the sorting and packaging of waste from certain warehouses of the current facility.

The project, in preparation for more than three years and whose initial investment is estimated at 200 million euros, has four components. On the one hand, create a hydrogen and natural gas plant. A biomethane production plant whose objective is to obtain these two fuels which can be launched for injection directly into a pipeline (such as a gas pipeline) or packaged for use in vehicles which use it in their combustion engines (the fleet of clean trucks and vehicles).

Sadeco’s plan is to find a company that will carry out this entire process, supplying all the organic waste that does not go to the landfill. The cost amounts to around 130 million, according to the preliminary project prepared by the company with the advice of Urbaisa, who submitted it last spring to the Municipal Council.

The Town Hall will apply the “Alsara model”, according to which a commercial area has been built on neighboring municipal land Miralbaïda and Huerta de Santa Isabel. A surface right which was the subject of a call for tenders and to which any company with a project could apply. This is how Sadeco will look for someone who will develop this first stage.

The second leg pivots on biofuel by pyrolysisa thermochemical process that breaks down plastic wastein simpler substances, by heating them to temperatures ranging from 300 to 900 degrees Celsius, in the absence of oxygen. A factory that would cost 20 million euros. Sadeco estimates that it can process around 25,000 tonnes of waste each year.

The third pillar is the creation of a center that generates animal proteins from the application of larvae or “black soldier flies” which feed on organic waste or sludge. The objective is to reduce waste by taking advantage of the insect’s conversion capacity. In addition to these nutrients for animals, they could be generated fertilizer for the soil.

Currently, the municipal company is working on the production of composting, but these applications would be more efficient, with an investment estimated at around 10 million euros, than current recycling. In April, this project received Next Generation funds worth 5.8 million (90% of the total estimated at 6.4 million).

Currently, the call for tenders for this installation is being prepared for September. In June 2026, it could work. Currently I am processing the Environmental authorization corresponding, in addition to the fact that that of the original complex is currently being revised.

The formula for deploying these two actions of Sadeco 5.0 will come from another public call for tenders, but this time only for use or exploitation. The idea that the PP currently manages is to place an area of old ships both plants (pyrolysis and soldier fly). Incur the expenses associated with the construction and provision of all necessary technological systems, then issue a tender for the management of these facilities.

THE Ministry of the Environment granted the Cordoba City Hall 6.9 million for the plastics project, which, added to the 5.8 million from Next Generation, total 12.7 million for the two factories, the estimate of which was initially 30 million .

The fourth stage of Sadeco 5.0 was a the mega installation is a photovoltaic park of approximately 50 hectares divided into three areas of the entire complex. Finally, according to sources consulted by ABC, it was renounced likewise and it will be decided that bidders who address larvae and pyrolysis projects will be able to make improvements in the installation of their own small self-consumption installations.
