San Fernando de Henares cancels a David Suárez show to make fun of the municipality

The City Hall of San Fernando de Henares (Madrid) has canceled the show in which the actor David Suárez was to perform on October 18 at the Federico García Lorca Municipal Theater. The municipal council made this decision after the comedian made fun of the municipality and in particular the sinking of line 7B of the metro.

This Sunday, Suárez published a video announcing this event and mocking the city. “Did you know the movie Sinking was going to be called Living in San Fernando de Henares? It’s not a joke, the whole municipality is sinking and to solve the problem they are making more injections in the ground than in the face of Kiko Matamoros,” the comedian said on his social networks.

From the Municipal Council, they display their “total rejection and condemnation of the content” of the video. They maintain, in a press release, that the actor’s comments represent “an absolute lack of respect towards the inhabitants” of the municipality and “in particular those affected by the serious problems created” by line 7B of the metro.

The government team justifies its decision by assuring that it will not allow “this social drama and the suffering of hundreds of families to become, under any circumstances, an object of ridicule or ridicule for anyone”.

“San Fernando is a city of workers that has suffered for more than 15 years from a tragedy resulting from the negligence of the different governments of the Community of Madrid, who are solely responsible for the work of this infrastructure,” the statement said. prepared by the municipal executive.

Since it was hastily inaugurated in 2007 by the then regional president, Esperanza Aguirre, this metro line has been the protagonist of numerous controversies and neighborhood protests due to the consequences of its construction. As Mayor Javier Corpa (PSOE) explained in July, the construction of this metro line has caused the demolition of 70 houses and around 600 families are affected.

In his video, Suárez also calls San Fernando de Henares “the ugly sister of San Fernando de Cádiz” or “like Badajoz in Madrid: ugly, poorly communicated and you only stop there because the gas is cheap” .

After the announcement of the Consistory, the comedian spoke on his networks, assuring that the decision of San Fernando de Henares is “censorship” and calling his supporters to another place on October 4.
