Sánchez-accused attorney general maneuvers to avoid being held accountable to the Senate

The State Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz, accused of the alleged crime of revealing secrets against Isabel Díaz Ayuso’s partner, is maneuvering not to appear before the Senate Justice Commission at the request of the PP. This is reported by PP sources in the Upper House, who criticize the fact that there is “an attorney general on the run for not giving explanations about his scandals.”

“Mr. García Ortiz made fun of the laws, the Penal Code, his colleagues and now he is making fun of all Spaniards by escaping from the Upper House,” PP sources point out. “The accused attorney general is cornered by numerous scandals which have led him to an untenable situation,” the sources point out. A situation, they add, which “directly involves the government and causes it to panic”. “When Sánchez and his 23rd minister, Álvaro Ortíz, see themselves surrounded, they act in the same way: fleeing democracy and responsibility,” they say.

Specifically, the Council of the Senate Commission of Justice, at the request of the PP, approved the appearance of the State Attorney General and on October 24, the president of said Commission transferred him to the department of Álvaro Ortíz in the aim of having possible dates for your appearance.

Almost a month later, according to PP sources, on November 20, the Attorney General responded to the Senate giving two options to appear: next December 4 or next December 18. Then, on November 27, the president of the Justice Commission, Yolanda Ibarrola, responded that that morning she had informed the Council and the spokespersons of the Justice Commission of the two possibilities and that it had subsequently been agreed to appear next Wednesday, December 4. afternoon.

Less than five days before the appearance, already scheduled and convened, the Senate received this Friday a letter from the attorney general of the state to reject the appearance without specifying the cause of its agenda which prevents it and without proposing alternative dates, they point out. PP sources.

“There are many controversies weighing on the Attorney General and the government, we are even studying whether he has crossed the criminal limit, and there are many suspicions that the Spaniards have about his behavior”, underline the popular to demand the immediate appearance of García Ortiz. “No matter how much he flees and tries to hide, the truth will pursue him and eventually prevail,” warns Alberto Núñez Feijóo’s party.
