There is no PSOE federal congress without territorial tension. The 41st edition organized this weekend in Seville will open the replacement process at the head of different territories and it shows. Some, like Juan Espadas, host of the conclave, justify themselves by endless interventions. And others sneak among the delegates to go unnoticed. Everyone is waiting for the debates in Congress to open and for Pedro Sánchez to give the signal to know who Ferraz will elect. There is a wait.
Once the doubt is lifted in Madrid, where Óscar López seems to be the only candidate, after the resignation of Juan Lobato, the mystery remains open in Andalusia, where the federal leadership is in favor of the continuity of Espadas, but there will surely be an alternative list. In Castile and León, the mayor of Soria appears favorite against a Tudanca, ready to stand his ground. In Extremadura, the possibility of change is diluted while in La Rioja the replacement of Concha Andreu will be decided with a single candidacy. The Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands will continue with Armengol and Torres at the helm, while in Aragon, Minister Pilar Alegría is expected to confirm in the coming days her willingness to run in the primaries where the change of Lambán will be resolved.
If there is a territory foreign to all this, it is Catalonia, transformed with Salvador Illa in the Generalitat into a true oasis of Spanish socialism. Catalonia, as its first secretary says, has come back and done so as a bastion of organic stability that we do not currently see in other Communities.
