Sánchez calls Aldama a “criminal” for including him in the corruption plot in his confession to the judge

The Secretary General of the PSOE and President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, said Thursday about Víctor de Aldama, leader of the party Koldo land, that the confessions before Judge Ismael Moreno of an “alleged criminal who is in preventive detention deserve the credit they have, none.”

This was stated in statements to the media in the courtyard of the Congress of Deputies at the end of the plenary session, where the Government did not lose any votes this Thursday thanks to the support of its partners. “My government is a clean government. My approach was that all traces of corruption were going to be eliminated. And that’s what we did,” he said.

Meanwhile, the PSOE leadership declared itself “outraged” by Aldama’s statements before the president of the Central Investigating Court number 2 of the National Court, Ismael Moreno. Socialists give him no credibility because, they claim, he is trying to defend himself. In this sense, the Minister of Finance and Deputy Secretary General of the PSOE, María Jesús Montero, declared that everything Aldama says is “absolutely a lie”, responds to his “judicial strategy” and will ultimately prove false.

Montero made these statements in the corridors of the Congress of Deputies, questioned specifically about part of Aldama’s testimony in court, where he said that the “number three” of the PSOE, Santos Cerdán, received an envelope of 15,000 euros, former minister José Luis Ábalos, 250,000 euros in a bite on a purchase of masks, and his former advisor Koldo García, around 100,000 euros.

“There was never any payment, or commission, or anything that this man said,” said Montero, who also denied that there were any meetings of socialist leaders with Aldama. “We don’t even know this man personally and therefore everything he conveys is false,” declared the number two of the PSOE.

A few hours before Sánchez’s statement to the media, the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, also appeared at the press office of the Lower House to demand his resignation and that of his government, and to offer some of its members the possibility of presenting a motion of censure against the head of the Executive. “I do not have the votes to change the government, but if any of its partners want to put an end to this, let them know that I am available for a new stage for this country,” Feijóo said in a message implicitly addressed to Junts and the PNV.

“It was confirmed before the National Court that the government smacks of lies and corruption. The faces of socialist deputies and members of the government say it these days and the judges who will act accordingly know it,” Feijóo emphasized after Aldama’s confession.

“It is obvious that Sánchez did not come to serve, but to serve himself,” said the opposition leader. At the same time, the leader of the PP paraphrased Pedro Sánchez in his speech on the motion of censure against Mariano Rajoy (PP) which brought him to power and underlined: “What anyone with a minimum of decency would do is is to resign. . , leave and leave the Spaniards in peace.
