Sánchez confirms to the Federal Committee that he will present his re-election to the General Secretariat of the PSOE

The President of the Government and Secretary General of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, confirmed this Saturday that He will stand for re-election as secretary general of his party.in November in Seville, when it is celebrated at the Socialist Congress. “I have to tell you I will present my re-election to the Secretary General of the PSOE“, he announced, arguing that the time is one of “optimism”.

This is what he emphasized. in his speech to the Federal Committee of the PSOE held this Saturday at the Madrid headquarters of Ferrazwhich was attended by most of the socialist barons. Among those present, some were very critical of him, especially after the agreement with the ERC and the PSC on a single financing for Catalonia.I do it because I have a future project for Spain,” defended the head of the Executive.

Likewise, he stressed that he wants to “enrich the country with his proposals”: “I have the desire and ambition to make it happen.” Sanchez assured that “Spain sets the tone“with a “successful model” that “can be exported throughout Europe” and promised to move forward “with his progressive agenda” with or without the support of the opposition.

Sánchez thus confirmed the announcement made by the PSOE spokesperson, Esther Peña, last Monday. “I do it because I want to share this project with all the activists and with the majority of Spaniards, because I want to enrich it with their proposals, improving, of course, this project with their criticisms, submitting it for their approval,” he said.

“With enthusiasm and optimism”

He also said he wanted the socialists to unite “to give Spain a horizon.” of hope and optimism“. “I claim optimism. Yes, I think these are difficult times for anxieties, there are many in politics,” he said while deploring that “for some,” optimism is “bad press.”

“You’ll see tomorrow in the right-wing media; right now, what’s dominating a certain published conversation is focused on the problems and tiptoeing around the solutions, which seems to attract an audience or retweets. It’s about following anxieties and predicting tragedies that ultimately don’t really happen.” he insisted.

The president stressed that the progressive models that socialists previously considered “with desire”, like Sweden, Finland, Sweden and “today Spain sets the tone.” The PSOE leader warned the opposition that he would advance his progressive agenda.with or without the support of the opposition, with or without the assistance of a legislative power, which must be more constructive and less destructive.”

“It suits Spain well, but it is very good that the socialists govern in Spain,” said Sánchez after thanking his people for their support after five days of was taken for reflectionreason why he was absent from the last socialist conclave.
