Sánchez encourages the emergency services that he did not activate because of DANA to applaud from the balconies

The President of the Government, Pedro Sanchezurges citizens to go out to their balconies to applaud the emergency services that are helping to mitigate the effects of DANA and which he refused to activate despite knowing of the storm that was going to occur in Valencia and other points of the national territory. The socialist leader cited as an example the Spaniards who applauded health professionals from their balconies during the coronavirus pandemic.

“I remember that during the pandemic, at 8:00 p.m., all the citizens of Valencia and the rest of Spain gathered on the balconies to applaud the health professionals. Today we must do the same with all civil servants in all public administrations,” said Pedro Sánchez during the press conference following the Extraordinary Council of Ministers held this Monday in Moncloa, against the backdrop of the DANA crisis.

The President of the Government also defended the work of NGOs which contribute to mitigating the consequences of the cold wave in Valencia because, according to him, they are singled out “unfairly” by an “amalgam of misinformants and hoaxes”.
