Sánchez insists on promoting “orderly migration” in the face of “the hell of irregular migration”

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, ended his term this Thursday African tour where you visited MauritanianGambia and Senegal. There, he once again defended the “regular migration” as a phenomenon “necessary and practical” for both countries of origin and destination.

Faced with criticism that has arisen since he began his first official trip of the summer, the socialist stressed that it was an “orderly migration” because “irregular status is a hell that leads to extreme situations of exploitation, inequality and risk of death.”

In this sense, Sánchez called for “promote regular migration and combat irregular migration”. To achieve this, he committed to working in “three areas”. On the one hand, the economic sector in which he has ensured will continue to “create development opportunities”, and on the other hand, in terms of security, it will be necessary to fight “against the mafias”. Likewise, he showed his commitment to proposing “alternatives” such as circular migration.

On this subject, the leader of the Executive maintains that “Recruitment at origin and orderly migration are convenient for all of us” because of its effect as a “vaccine against those who make irregular migration a business” and “against those who use it for spread hate and xenophobia.”

Comments very similar to those made this Wednesday by his Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, regarding the Criticism of the people against Sanchez’s statements in defense of migration. Some statements by the diplomat completed by the Minister of Housing, Isabel Rodriguez, and to which the popular they asked for an apologysince they questioned the moral turpitude of their leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo.

In short, Sánchez ends his African tour as he began it: defending regular migration, recognizing “the great effort that these friendly countries are making to put an end to the tragedy of thousands of people” and with the Spanish opposition, criticizing their lack of action.
