The President of the Government, Pedro Sanchezwas screened this Wednesday afternoon in a cinema in Madrid with his wife, Begoña Gomezaccused of corruption. The general director was accompanied by a cameraman who will be in charge of recording him at the entrance of the cinema and in his internal access to the screening room, with the tickets in hand. The images were taken at the Verdi cinema, on Bravo Murillo street in Madrid.
What stands out is that at all times it can be seen that the president and the accused Begoña Gómez speak without the presence of citizens, something that has already become a classic in many of their public appearances in which their security and image team takes care to avoid the proximity of ordinary people who could reprimand them.
Sanchez, cornered by corruption cases affecting his wife and brother, David Sánchez Pérez-Castejóndoes not hesitate to boast of “dignity” in the message on social networks with which he illustrated this video, carefully previously edited and which he used as private propaganda. At the same time, he presents himself as a champion of the “working class”.
As the judicial investigation for corruption crimes threatens his wife and brother, Sánchez boasts of “dignity”. Thus, the text with which he accompanies his video entering the cinema with the accused Begoña Gómez, the president reproduces as a proclamation: “”Dignity is not something abstract. Dignity is the fight for water, the fight for electricity, the fight for the Post Office, the fight for public health and education. “That is dignity.”

Sánchez’s exhibition with his accused wife is a repeat offender. It is the second time that the president has been recorded entering a movie theater. And this is added to the series of appearances and statements by Pedro Sánchez in which he has defended Begoña Gómez and presented her as a victim of an alleged campaign against her by the opposition and the judiciary.
In May, the head of the Executive even demanded that his wife be asked to “forgive” him for the information published with evidence of her private affairs full of meetings in Moncloa and friendships that compromise the President of the Government himself. Faced with the signs of corruption that have given rise to the ongoing judicial investigation against his wife, Sánchez affirms from the Presidency of the Government that Begoña Gómez is an “honest, serious and responsible” professional. Sánchez’s wife is accused of having committed crimes of influence peddling and commercial corruption.
