President Pedro Sánchez hastily abandoned the kings’ entourage in Paiporta, one of the Valencian towns most affected by the DANA floods, after a neighbor threw a stick at him which hit him in the back .
It was then that his security team urged the President of the Government to leave the premises, while King Felipe VI and Letizia continued walking and chatting among neighbors, in a moment of maximum tension.
A few minutes later, as shown in images broadcast by several television channels, part of the crowd chased one of the official vehicles of the President of the Government’s entourage, kicking and hitting fist and shouting “Son of a bitch!”

Official Moncloa sources confirmed that the president left the delegation when the security protocol was activated for the attacks he suffered.
The security services then decided to transfer the director general to the forward command post located in Valencia. However, both Pedro Sánchez and the rest of his team they are fineindicate the same sources.
This morning there were minutes of high tension in Paiporta, where many residents took advantage of the visit of the kings, President Pedro Sánchez and the head of the Consell, Carlos Mazón, to express their indignation at the lack of aid facing floods.
Despite the high tension, the kings, with their clothes and faces stained with mud, advanced into one of the main streets of this municipality and tried to calm things down, as reported by EL ESPAÑOL.
They approached neighbors to listen to their needs and complaints. Several citizens accused the authorities of “abandoning them” after a tragedy which, according to the latest official data from the Valencian government, left 213 dead. Queen Letizia consoled several women present in the streets of Paiporta, whom she hugged.
After the hasty departure of the President of the Government, King Felipe VI stayed for almost an hour in Paiporta to try to calm things down, listening to the testimonies of pain and showing his understanding of the desperate situation that this population has been going through since Tuesday.
At his side remained the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, who later commented on what happened on social networks: “I understand the social indignation and of course I stay to receive it. It is my political and moral obligation. The King’s attitude this morning was exemplary“.
The Kings had planned to then travel to Chiva, also accompanied by Pedro Sánchez and Carlos Mazón, but ultimately this phase of the visit was suspended for security reasons, after the incidents in Paiporta.
Felipe VI plans to chair this Monday the crisis cabinet on the disaster caused by the lady, as announced this morning at a press conference by Minister Ángel Víctor Torres. The head of Health will also join the crisis committee, Monique Garcia.
