Sánchez says he “noticed” the sanctions against Delcy in 2020 but they were public a year and a half before

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, declared this Friday in Rome that it was after the message he received from Jose Luis Abalos on January 16, 2020 regarding the visit of Delcy Rodríguez on the 20th during His government “realized” that there were EU sanctions preventing him from setting foot on Spanish soil. However, these sanctions were public for at least a year and a half beforewith Sánchez himself already at the head of the executive. This is how they appeared collected in the Official Journal of European Union dated June 25, 2018.

The spokesperson for the PP in the European Parliament, Dolors Montserratdenounced on social networks that Sánchez had omitted this fact during his appearance before the media in Rome. “Sanchez is lying. He claims today that he became aware of the EU sanctions against Delcy Rodríguez after giving him the All right to Ábalos to receive it. On June 25, 2018, he was already president of the government, Borrell was his minister and Delcy was sanctioned. Up to the eyebrows of scandals»wrote the former minister in a message on her official profile accompanying these declarations in the Official Journal of the European Union.

On June 25, 2019, this bulletin specifies that the Council of the European Union, “taking into account the situation in Venezuela, should include in the list of natural and legal persons, entities and organizations subject to restrictive measures which appears in the Annex 1 to Decision (CFSP) 2017/2074”to Delcy Eloína Rodríguez Gómez, vice-president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, born May 18, 1969.

In the section on the reasons which justified the restriction on entry into the Schengen area, the Council underlines: “Her actions within the framework of the Presidential Commission and, subsequently, as President of the Constituent Assembly illegitimate undermined democracy and the rule of law in Venezuelanotably through the usurpation of the powers of the National Assembly and their use to attack the opposition and prevent its participation in the political process.

A recent report prepared by the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard, already in the possession of the National Court, revealed that Pedro Sánchez received a message from Ábalosthen Minister of Public Works, on January 16, 2020 of the arrival of Delcy and the president authorized him personally via his cell phone the controversial meeting in Barajas which led to the Delcygate affair. Ábalos informed him of the request of the number two of Nicolás Maduro to hold a meeting and Sánchez wrote on his cell phone via Whatsapp: “GOOD”.

“And to finish annoying you, the vice-president of Venezuela is coming privately on Monday, he wants to see me discreetly following on from the meeting I had with the Minister of Communication (who is his brother). The management that we agreed on in favor of Spanish companies has allowed Duro Felguera to recover a significant debt”, Ábalos told Sánchez in his message sent after 10:30 p.m. To this, the President of the Government, a few minutes later, responded positively: “Good”.

Next, Abalos take a screenshot at 11:07 p.m. and shares it with his close advisor Koldo García. This is what the UCO reflects in its report: “On January 16, 2020, during a conversation between Koldo and Ábalos, the latter sent him a screenshot in which the former minister contacted the president of the government “.

“In this way – continues the investigation of the Armed Institute – Ábalos informs the president of the aforementioned visit, emphasizing that it would allow obtaining debt collection of Spanish companies in Venezuela, notably the company Duro Felguera. However, on the part of this unit there is no evidence of debt recovery by Duro Felguera on these dates,” the report states.

After Ábalos sent this image to Koldo, the latter responded “How much I love you!” so that Ábalos then added “you see he didn’t tell me anything, but at least he doesn’t object”.

The UCO report also reveals that Delcy’s visit – which Sánchez is now manipulating – was prepared by Victor de Aldamathe businessman who had been at the head of the plot for several days. According to data from researchers at the Armed Institute, it was De Aldama who organized the visit of Delcy Rodríguez and closed Maduro’s vice president’s meetings with business friends. The businessman, close to Koldo and Ábalos, thus had such a decisive participation that Delcy Rodríguez exchanged numerous messages with him.

Executive terminal

Four days after Ábalos’ message to Sánchez and his authorization, Delcy’s plane landed in Barajas, and the then Minister of Public Works met with Nicolás Maduro’s number two in the airport’s executive terminal from Madrid. The meeting between the two took place in a VIP area company facilities Ciel Vallet who provided the service of handling to planes leased by the Venezuelan government. Delcy spent the night in this space.
