Sánchez supports Brussels Attorney General and demands that Feijóo resigns from Ayuso

The President of the Government, Pedro Sanchezshowed this Thursday in Brussels its support for the State Attorney General, Álvaro Garcia Ortizbecause “he did what he had to do” despite his accusation by the Supreme Court, and demanded the resignation of the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

During a press conference after his participation in the European Council, Sánchez was asked about the situation of the Attorney General, a moment of which he took advantage of to support him: “The Spanish government has declared clearly and categorically from the first moment: we respect the position of the Supreme Court, but We support the action of the state attorney general because he did his job, what I had to do. “Two things: pursue the criminal and, secondly, fight against disinformation and hoaxes.”

“Probably, the news we learned yesterday allows us to remember the origin of all this, namely that the chief of staff of the president of the Community of Madrid, partner of a confessed criminal, gives rise to a hoax“, he added.

It is for this reason that he attacked the Popular Party, wondering when the “popular” will demand explanations from the president of Madrid: “In political terms, we must ask ourselves, as a society, when the Popular Party will demand explanations and demand responsibilities from the president of the Community of Madrid, who is the partner of a confessed criminal, who defrauded the Treasury and enriched himself with masks during the pandemic.

A few words which resulted in the President of Government’s request to the Popular Party, in particular that of dismissing Ayuso: “No one within the PP took any responsibility political and no one demanded it. »

The President of the Government also clarified other issues on which he was questioned, among which the trip of Delcy Rodríguez within the framework of the “Koldo case”, a trip in which he maintains his initial position: “We all said the same thing. “This visit did not take place when it became known that there were individual sanctions against the vice-president of Venezuela.”

Concerning Ábalos, he indicated that he assumes “the responsibility, which is to act with force”, stressing that he was expelled “five days after the indications which now seem confirmed were known”.

Finally, Sánchez does not agree with Ursula von der Leyen’s proposal on immigration to create deportation centers for migrants outside the EU because it only “creates new problems”, while defending that the immigration problem is not solved “with the next elections in mind”.

“I say it clearly: we are not in favor of this type of formula because they are formulas which do not solve any of the problems and create new ones,” he stressed about this proposal, in line with the policy advocated by the Italian Prime Minister. Minister, Giorgia Meloni.
