Shouts and boos against Pedro Sánchez are commonplace during the traditional October 12 parade. But this year, the event was also marked by several scandals of capital importance for the Executive, since the Case Begoña Gómez And David Sanchez to the new revelations of Koldo Field. Sánchez received public outcry, with whistles and shouts demanding his resignation. “Sánchez is Batasuna!”, “Thieves!” were some of those who were heard. Citizens defied the intense rain that fell on Madrid and attended the military parade to express their criticism of the socialist executive. The distance from the security barriers, located 200 meters away, did not prevent the boos.
In recent years, Sánchez’s maneuvers to try to silence this citizen criticism have been constant, knowing that it is an act of great repercussion. In 2022, he even arrived after the Three Kings, which forced the entourage of Don Felipe and Doña Letizia to stop. The stands that once stood near the Plaza de Neptuno have also been removed, as has the announcement of the arrival of the President of the Government through the public address system, which was common years ago. Sánchez tried to remain unnoticed – he barely spoke to the authorities who were awaiting his arrival – but he was unsuccessful. The citizens quickly identified him and the booing began.
