The Generalitat of the Valencian Community of Carlos Mazon regretted that the government of Pedro Sanchez He wants to charge you for helping rebuild DANA. Since autonomy, they have disgraced the Central Executive for demanding payment of 320,000 euros for various cold drop environmental impact analysis tasks.
The Regional Executive recalled the words of the socialist leader just hours after the tragedy of the cold drop that devastated the province of Valencia. Then, Sánchez said: “If they need more resources, let them ask for them. » “Now it turns out that the central government demands the payment of more than 300 thousand euros to analyze the environmental impact of the sludge in areas like the Albufera and the Poyo ravine”, highlighted the autonomy led by Mazon.
Specifically, the Valencian Community refers to an expense related to the study of the sludge of the populations affected by DANA on October 29. According to what they emphasize about autonomy, the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), requests to charge 320,000 euros, plus VAT, for this service to the Government of Mazón. “If the Generalitat wants to have reports on the sludge to be extracted from the municipalities affected by DANA, it must pay 320,000 euros (plus VAT)», They lamented to the Regional Executive.
The CSIC is an organization dependent on the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, led by the leader of the PSOE of the Valencian Community, Diane Morant. The public entity sent the Valencian Government a “research proposal” on the composition of the sludge that must be evacuated from the municipalities affected by DANA. And he stressed that the cost to carry out this research is 320,000 euros, plus VAT.
In addition, the Executive emphasizes that this is a “support investigation” to be able to coordinate it with the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation (CHJ). The objective of this study is to conclude whether “a possible discharge of this sludge into river bed areas of the public hydraulic domain does not represent a negative environmental impact”.
If they need resources, let them pay for them
This price includes “a volume of 1,000 samples”, including 40 sectors of the Rambla del Poyo and 40 other sectors of Albufera, “with a frequency of 1 monthly sample per sector”, indicates the CSIC proposal. It is nevertheless indicated that “if a greater volume of samples or additional analyzes are required, the cost may increase proportionately”.
The autonomy regrets that Sánchez assured that if the Valencian Community needed more resources it would have to ask for them, but “it now turns out that this aid has a price”. “It is an insult to the Valencians that Sánchez demands advance payment to help us in this important task of analyzing the sludge brought by the flood,” says the Mazón government.
And they conclude that the “cooperation with the Generalitat Valenciana that Sánchez talks about so much” is “a curious cooperation” and warn that, above all, it is done “after payment of the amount”. “Sanchez’s help comes at a price,” they say.
