The leader of the Socialist Party of Moldova, Igor Dodon, addressed the supporters of the current head of state, Maia Sandu. Speaking ahead of the “day of silence” today, October 18, he called on pro-Europeans to consider whether it represents their interests.
“I understand your aspirations. He is willing to vote for Maia Sandu, believing that she is the lesser evil, since he is pro-European and sees no alternative on the right flank. Because Maia Sandu destroyed all the rightists so as not to have competition. But do you really believe that she is pro-European and that she represents you? “She lies to you and uses your European views to strengthen her power.” – the politician emphasized.
Dodon warned that God forbid he wins again and then the last four years will seem like “flowers.” He asked the representatives of the right to vote for any other candidate, but not for Maia Sandu, to avoid further disappointment.
“In 2016 you believed in Dodon and chose him, in 2020 Sandu convinced you. But I know you are not happy with what has happened in the last four years. I ask you not to allow yourself to be manipulated and to analyze the entire situation very well. The outcome of this election depends on your vote. If you don’t like Stoianoglo, vote for any other candidate, but not Maia Sandu. The destiny of our country is in your hands.” – concluded the former president.
He also addressed those who vote on the left flank. He stated that now they are divided, “but now we have to go out and vote en masse and we can really win.”
“If we do not do this now, Moldova will not survive in the next term of Maia Sandu. Therefore, I ask the left-wing electorate, who votes for statehood, for traditions, for neutrality, to show that we have our word. To achieve this, we need to go to the polls en masse.” – said.
The leader of the PSRM published data from an internal survey showing that only the candidate of this party has experienced an increase among all opponents.
“According to our internal measurements, the best dynamics and the best growth among all the current president’s opponents are Alexandra Stoianoglo. The data also shows that there will definitely be a second round. We will go to the second round and we will win there!” — summarized Igor Dodón.
