Sanxenxo will welcome a few visitors from mid-September 70 migrants “with hospitality and solidarity”, as announced in a press release, even if the Council regrets the government’s “lack of planning and leadership”.
The Government Delegation assured that the Xunta de Galicia and the municipality itself have already been informed, to whom it thanked its collaboration. Meanwhile, the local government appreciates that “this time” they were informed “sufficiently in advance and directly”, and not “by means” as in “in 2023”.
They emphasize that they will welcome the 70 immigrants with “the normality, hospitality and solidarity that characterize their neighbors” and that they will collaborate with the NGO responsible for coordinating their stay.
“But, as elsewhere in Spain, we are missing a better planning and the leadership of the Spanish government, which is content to entrust the responsibility of welcoming and facilitating the integration of these people to NGOs, autonomous communities and municipal councils,” they denounce.
Furthermore, they added that a government whose budget “allows to offer services and social benefits to 48 million Spaniards, I should have a plana strategy and facilities to better manage immigration.
