Sara Vítores, journalist at Cadena SER, died at 52

Sara Vítores, a journalist from Cadena SER, died this Tuesday at the age of 52. Born in Avila and graduated in journalism from the Pontifical University of Salamanca, Vítores began her career on Radio 3, with the program “Oyentes sin Fronteras”.

After working at the municipal station of Alcalá de Henares, Sara Vítores joined Cadena SER in 2006, first at Radio Madrid and then with the program “A vivir que son dos días”. The journalist then continued at Hora 25 and since 2019 she has coordinated the program of the magazine “Hoy por Hoy”.

Two years ago, the advertiser was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, a rare disease in which cancer cells form in the bile ducts, which led her to promote the Biliary Tract Tumor Association, ATUVIBI.

The news of her death was announced in “Hoy por hoy” by Àngels Barceló, with whom Vítores worked for years. “Today is a very sad day for us,” they reported from the SER program. “Optimistic, affectionate and attentive to detail, Sara was a person full of joy that infected her friends and colleagues. And this is how we will remember her,” they tweeted from the X account ‘Hoy por hoy’.
