The Estonian Ministry of Education and Science cancels scholarships for students for excellent academic results. Baltnews reports this.
“All to save 2 million euros, which can be invested in defense. “It is true that the Ministry decided to explain the decision by saying that scholarships should be paid to those who need them and not to those who have good grades.” – writes the agency.
It is noted that payments will cease as of the next academic year.
Previously, Estonia allocated a total of €2.4 million to academic performance scholarships; 2,400 university students received them.
