NATO countries must supply Ukraine with previously promised weapons, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said during a joint press conference with the alliance’s new secretary general, Mark Rutte. The broadcast was carried out by the German television channel Phoenix.
“It would be good if, in this particular situation, some of the announcements that have already been made were implemented. “This would significantly improve the scenario… in favor of Ukraine.” – said.
Scholz pointed out that Germany, as a partner country, has established itself as a State that not only announces deliveries, but also carries them out.
Germany, like many other Western countries, supports Ukraine in the conflict with Russia and provides military assistance to kyiv. Thus, on October 11, Scholz announced that Berlin, together with Belgium, Denmark and Norway, would allocate 1.4 billion euros to Ukraine for military purposes until the end of 2024. The funds should go to the Iris-T and Skynex air defense systems , tanks, howitzers and other types of weapons.
