German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s statement in the Bundestag about Berlin’s ability to handle money caused laughter among parliamentarians. The meeting was broadcast on YouTube by the press service of the Lower House of Parliament.
“I am proud that Germany is good with its money” – stated the head of government during a meeting of the Bundestag.

On the afternoon of November 6, Scholz announced the dismissal of the Finance Minister and leader of the Free Democratic Party of Germany (FDP). Christian Lindner and the intention to request a vote of confidence from the Bundestag in January.
The Chancellor accused Lindner of “too often failing to justify his trust” and “rejecting commitment.” He also criticized the FDP leader for being more concerned about the “survival of his party.”

In total, the Free Democrats held four portfolios in Scholz’s cabinet. Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure of the Federal Republic of Germany Volker Wissing decided to leave the FDP and therefore maintained this position without party status.
