Scientists at the University of Oxford have carried out the first study to study the advantages and disadvantages of social animals. The study included 151 species of animals and humans.

According to the report, the researchers provided a comprehensive assessment of the relationship between socialization and various life cycle characteristics, including generation period, individual life span, and reproductive cycle.
The results showed that more social species tend to live longer, delay puberty and reproduce more successfully than solitary species.
Although social species are less adaptable to changing environments, they remain stable as a group.
Research has also shown that sociability affects animals’ ability to reproduce or survive as they age. For example, social allies can help protect each other from predators, but the strain of social hierarchy and conflict can have the opposite effect.
