“Search” for life on an alien planet: “Europa Clipper” was sent to the icy depths of Europa

The company “SpaceX” has successfully launched the American automatic interplanetary station “Europa Clipper”. The station embarked on a long journey to Europa, one of Jupiter’s most mysterious moons.

Oku.Az“SpaceNews” reported on this.

It was reported that the super-heavy rocket “Falcon Heavy” together with the “Europa Clipper” took off from the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida. An hour after launch, “Europa Clipper” successfully separated from the second stage of the aircraft carrier and was controlled by ground controllers.

It should be noted that “Europa Clipper”, valued at $5.2 billion, is one of the most expensive missions in NASA history. The station, which weighs 5,700 kg (including fuel), is equipped with solar panels that will extend its length up to 30.5 meters when fully open. The main objective of the mission is to determine if the ocean of liquid water hidden under Europa’s ice sheet can support life.

Europa Clipper is expected to reach the Jupiter system in 2030 after a series of gravitational maneuvers using the gravity of Earth and Mars. Scientists have emphasized that this mission could fundamentally change our understanding of life in the solar system.
