Security forces conducted searches at the headquarters of the Russian Interior Ministry in Taganrog. This was reported by the region’s law enforcement agencies today, November 21.
“The searches were carried out at the headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city of Taganrog. Vladimir Grekov in the case against the former head of the traffic police of the Aksai region”, — the source told reporters.
Previously, Grekov headed the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Aksai district of the Rostov region; the former head of the district traffic police was under his command; Sergei Selivanov.
In August of this year, employees of the Russian department of the FSB in the Rostov region detained the head of the traffic police in the Aksai region, suspected of systematically receiving bribes from his subordinates. A criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (accepting a bribe).
According to investigators, Selivanov demanded that his subordinates give him about nine thousand rubles per person per month for his patronage. He also regularly received money from the owner of the seized lot, to whom, following his instructions, the cars of traffic violators were taken.
