The second interparliamentary forum of Central Asian countries is being held in Khiva, the press service of the Senate of Uzbekistan reported.
This was stated by the Chairman of the Senate of Uzbekistan Tanzila NarbaevaAll countries in the region see their future development in direct connection with the sustainability and well-being of Central Asia.
He noted the importance of interparliamentary interaction for the successful implementation of agreements reached at the highest level and put forward a number of proposals for intensifying and expanding interparliamentary cooperation.
“The forum aims to further develop interparliamentary relations between Central Asian countries, expanding the participation of interparliamentary commissions, friendship groups, representative authorities, youth and women’s parliaments in the socio-economic development of the region,” – says the press service.
As a result of the forum, the participants plan to adopt the Khiva Declaration, which will be the basis for further actions and cooperation of the Central Asian countries within the framework of interparliamentary initiatives.
