Craft beer, local products and a square open from tapas time until midnight. How can you not fall in love with something? Of course, the thousands of visitors who signed up this Saturday for the fifth edition of “Love at first beer” did. Foods from Segovia has announced the 2nd Craft Beer Fair of the Real Sitio de San Ildefonsoin which seven craft breweries, four of them from Segovia, participated in this day dedicated to promoting respect for the environment.
The breweries belonging to Productos de Segovia, SanFrutos, Casuar and Octavoartewith the also Segovian See, the madrilenians Bacteria and Quinceand Toledo Homewere the seven in charge of making this ancient drink known to the thousands of participants who walked the Plaza de los Dolores from noon to midnight.
The fair, organized by the Provincial Council of Segovia, will close its first edition on October 4 at the Boceguillas Craft Beer Fair, as the provincial institution indicates in a press release.
Regarding the event, as in previous “Love at first beer” events, one of the keys to the event was that in order to taste the different varieties of beer, it was necessary buy a reusable cup screen-printed glass made available to brewers by the provincial institution.
This, according to the representative of Provincial Promotion and Sustainable Rural Development, Magdalena Rodríguez, is an example of how the Provincial Council works on sustainability since “the use of glass cups instead of plastic not only reduces waste consumption, but also raises awareness among the population about the importance of adopting more environmentally friendly practices.
“We want the commitment to sustainability to be a fundamental element of all our actions.” Likewise, although the common thread of the day was craft beer itself, with moments such as a beer tasting for thirty peoples, visitors were able to enjoy various musical performances of different styles, as well as a raffle of gifts.
