The source noted that “if both sides agreed with the proposed ceasefire for 60 days, Israel will use this time to offer a constant ceasefire, which requires Hamas to remove.”

He added: “If Hamas rejects Israel, Israel will continue military operations.”

Earlier, American and Israeli sources reported that US President Donald Trump March “strong pressure” on Netanyahu during their second meeting in the White House on Tuesday to accept the ceasefire in Gaza.

The Jewish newspaper Yediot Achoronot said that Netanyahu left the meeting, not making any statements, indicating the difficulty of negotiations.

Negotiations rotate around a temporary agreement, which includes a 60 -day truce, interspersed with two stages to free 10 Israeli prisoners, and transfer the remains of 18 others, as well as launch Palestinian prisoners and increase humanitarian assistance in the gas strip, provided that the Trump administration guarantees the implementation of the agreement.

Nevertheless, Israeli sources warned that negotiations could be stained from the insistence of Netanyahu in preserving the Israeli military control over the axis of Philadelphia 2 – as opposed to the recommendations of Israeli security services.

According to the sources, the Catarus’s side rejected the Israeli map as a limited and unacceptable, while Wittakuf indicated that it is similar to the plan of the Israeli Minister of Finance, which includes the survival of Israeli forces in large parts of the Gaza, which Washington rejects.

In the light of internal pressure on Netanyahu, Israel later presented a new offer that guaranteed a wider removal of funds, which led to progress in negotiations.
