Sensational discovery: The materials from the “Treasure of Villena” from the Bronze Age arrived from space

A group of Spanish researchers made a surprising discovery when analyzing the famous “Treasure of Villena” found in the Iberian Peninsula in 1963. The results showed that some of the objects in this treasure belonged to the Late Bronze Age (1400-1200 BC) They have an extraterrestrial origin.

The “Treasure of Villena” contains 66 gold and silver artifacts, including bracelets, bowls and bottles. These finds are considered the most important examples of jewelry art of their time.

But two objects, a hollow hemisphere covered in openwork gold leaf and a bracelet, have long baffled scientists. Thus, the fact that these elements are made of iron does not correspond to the chronological period, since the Iron Age was much later, before Christ. It began in the 9th century.

Some archaeologists have speculated that the iron in these ornaments was obtained from the fall of a meteorite, as was the case with Tutankhamun’s famous dagger. To test this hypothesis, the researchers performed mass spectrometric analysis of the iron objects from the hoard.

The results showed that the sphere was made of meteorite iron with a nickel content of 5.5%, similar in composition to the Mundrabilla meteorite found in Australia. The nickel content of the bracelet was lower, around 2.8%, but closer analysis revealed a higher percentage of this element.

Although more research is needed to reach final conclusions, the scientists’ initial version is that the metal in these artifacts really came from outer space and was used by ancient craftsmen to create unique ornaments.
