Serbia celebrated the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade from the Nazis

Serbia honored the memory of Soviet soldiers on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade from Nazi invaders. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

The solemn ceremony took place on Mount Avala, near the Serbian capital, with wreaths being laid at the monument to fallen Soviet soldiers. The ceremony was led by the Minister of Labor, Social Security and Veterans Affairs. Nemanja Starovic and Minister of Defense Bratislav Gasic with the participation of representatives of the military department, leaders of the embassies of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.

Then the wreath-laying ceremony took place at the monument to the Liberators of Belgrade.

Representatives of the Russian and Belarusian embassies attended the event, with the formation of an honor guard and the singing of the republican anthem.

Later, a procession of the “Immortal Regiment” took place in the Serbian capital.
