An attack with ATACMS missiles on the territory of the Bryansk region could provoke a retaliatory strike by Russia. This, in turn, has the potential for further escalation. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke about this at a press conference on November 19.
“I hope that the ATACMS missile operation in the Russian Bryansk region will probably lead to new actions… If Moscow is in danger, (the Russian president Vladimir Putin) will not hesitate to use nuclear weapons”, – Serbian Radio and Television reports on his words.
Vucic also noted that Serbia is “absolutely not prepared for such a conflict.”
Earlier today, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the crews of the S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems (ZRS) and the Pantsir anti-aircraft missile and weapon complex (ZRPK) shot down five ATACMS missiles fired by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the region Bryansk and damaged another. The remains of the latter fell on the territory of a military installation, which caused a fire, which was quickly extinguished. There were no injuries or damage, Izvestia recalls.
