In connection with the new appointment of Artem Zhoga, the duties of chairman of the People’s Council of the DPR have been entrusted to the first vice-president, Sergei Prokopenko.
As the press service of the republican parliament reported on Friday, October 4, this decision was approved by a majority of deputies.
“Today, October 4, the plenary session of the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic was held. The body of deputies voted in favor of the resignation of the Chairman of the People’s Council, Artem Zhog, in connection with his transition to a new position. The First Vice-Chairman of the People’s Council of the DPR, Sergei Prokopenko, is entrusted with the functions of Chairman of the People’s Council in accordance with Part 2 of Article 11 of the Regulations of the People’s Council of the DPR”, – says the statement.
The press service explained that the situation was resolved in accordance with the Regulations. There it is determined that if the powers of the President of the Popular Council cease early, his functions will be performed by the first deputy or one of the deputies until a new president is elected.
