Seriously injured worker dies after 8-ton concrete slab falls in Quinto

The labor sector is once again plunged into tragedy. On Monday, a new accident occurred in which a 31-year-old worker was seriously injured after being trapped under a concrete slab. The severity of the injuries made it impossible for him to recover, resulting in death.

The deceased was an employee of the company Gilva (Calanda), which was subcontracted by the company Deimos Renewable Energy, promoter of the Quinto photovoltaic plant, according to labor sources from the government of Aragon to EL ESPAÑOL.

The accident occurred while the deceased was unloading concrete slabs. The worker finished trapped under 8 tons causing serious injuriesespecially in one of his legs.

The DPZ firefighters arrived on site at 10:50 a.m. to provide assistance. There, a complete team was mobilized, in addition to the complete team of the Caspe park that intervened in the works, in collaboration with the Civil Protection, health workers and helicopter 112, which transported the injured person to a hospital in Zaragoza.

The same sources from the Government of Aragon indicate that when he was transferred he was stable and conscious. However, initially There were fears that his leg would have to be amputated. due to the severity of the injuries. But the worker eventually died.
