The CCommunity of Madrid continues to lead the ranking of the best public hospitals in Spain, with seven Madrid hospitals among the top 15, according to the Health Reputation Monitor (MRS)a leading independent study in the sector, which today announced its awards during a gala held at the Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda Hospital. La Paz and Gregorio Marañón lead the ranking, after the latter moved up one place from 2023.
October 12 (4th) was also in the top ten; Ramón and Cajal (7th); Fundación Jiménez Díaz (9th) and Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda (10th), while the Clínico San Carlos reached 12th place. All of them have contributed to Madrid’s public health system being the one that has received the most distinctions.
In addition, The MRS awarded distinctions to 43 clinical services throughout Spain, including 23 from Madrid Health Service hospitals. (SERMAS): 15 corresponded to La Paz (allergology, clinical analysis, anesthesiology and resuscitation, cardiology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, pediatric surgery, medical-surgical dermatology, internal medicine, pulmonology, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynecology, oto- rhino-laryngology, pediatrics, Rheumatology, Traumatology and Surgery Orthopedic); 3 to Gregorio Marañón (Hospital Pharmacy, Geriatrics and Psychiatry); another from October 3 to 12 (Pathological anatomy, intensive medicine and radiodiagnosis); and 2 in Ramón y Cajal (Digestive system and ophthalmology).
Likewise, they obtained special diplomas for the best Nursing management teams La Paz, Gregorio Marañón and 12 de Octubre, first, third and fourth respectively. In the Communication section, Gregorio Marañón and La Paz lead the list of winners, while 12 de Octubre is the fourth.
To prepare this ranking, MRS carried out 8,912 surveys among specialists, family doctors, directors of pharmaceutical companies, hospital pharmacists, hospital directors and directors, nursing directors, specialized journalists and patient associations. The distinctions awarded today add to the leadership of public hospitals in Madrid in Spain, according to the Forbes list, or the recognition of the American magazine Newsweek, which has once again placed seven public centers in the region among the best in world.
Best health center in Madrid
These distinctions given to public health hospitals in the Community of Madrid are also added to the award for the best primary health care center in Spain, given to the Gate of Madrid-Alcalá de Henares-. This distinction was awarded last week by the Best in Class (BiC) Award organized by the specialized publication Gaceta Médica and the Chair of Innovation and Health Management of Rey Juan Carlos University.
