A volcano near the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik, It erupted on Wednesday evening. This is the tenth time in three years. It was the seventh volcanic eruption in a year and forced the evacuation of the fishing village of Grindavik. Authorities had previously warned of volcanic activity due to the accumulation of magma under the Reykjanes Peninsula, about 30 km southwest of the capital, Reykjavik, where the last eruption only ended on 6 september. In contrast, there has been no notable increase in seismic activity in recent weeks, the weather bureau said.
