Due to the large number of pilgrims returning to the country, there is severe passenger congestion at Nakhchivan International Airport.
About this Oku.AzThis was reported by the press service of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC.
“The large number of passengers has created a serious additional burden for the air carrier “Azerbaijan Airlines”. However, despite this and the busy summer flight schedule, the national airline of Azerbaijan AZAL takes all necessary measures to transport passengers from Nakhchivan to Baku.
Yesterday, AZAL operated three additional flights to transport pilgrims to the capital outside the scheduled timetable on the Baku-Nakhchivan-Baku route. Four additional flights are planned for today, which will speed up the transportation of passengers to Baku. More than 600 pilgrims have already arrived in Baku on AZAL flights.
Currently, passengers waiting for their flight at Nakhchivan International Airport have all the necessary facilities.
For your information, the Baku-Nakhchivan-Baku route is highly popular during the summer months. To meet this demand, AZAL operates 10-15 flights a day in the direction of Nakhchivan,” the agency reported.
