The mayor of Alcalá de Guadaíra, the socialist Ana Isabel Jiménez, is the object of public mockery by some of her neighbors after the reception in the city of 85 immigrant refugees in the process of being received in Spain. He reported it on his social networks, showing some of the threats and sexist messages he has received in the last two days.
So she reproduced some of the messages addressed to her in Facebook and Telegram groups, among others, including one in which she urged migrants to be taken home, but “the member must first see them to know which one is.” This particular neighbor writes the message with a hidden profile, with a name that may be fictitious.
Another neighbor reproaches him: “the mayor’s whore in her quiet house, the bitch or on vacation”, in a conversation on Telegram, while a woman, who appears on her Facebook profile with photos of two minors, writes: “The mayor should hang her (sic).”
“We have to endure these types of attacks”
Ana Isabel Jiménez assures that currently, “women” have to “suffer these types of attacks,” which she describes as “degrading comments that incite hatred and violence and that, curiously, this is what they accuse others of simply because of their skin color.”
“I am proud to be a woman and to represent the city of Alcalá, for which I will continue to work even harder, for a better future for all,” she concluded. The mayor is considering legal action.
