Uncertainty continues in the Spanish musical sector after one of the main companies selling tickets for the show, wegow, declared in May about their entry into the preliminary form of creditors, affecting musicians and small promoters, not having the opportunity to get to the collection of tickets sold. Now the general society of authors and editors (SGAE) has announced the implementation of a special program of an advance program worth 300,000 euros intended for its partners and partners who suffered by default as a result of the preliminary concentration of lenders declared Vegow.

As this organization explained, these grants strive to alleviate the economic impact received from copyright generated by concerts, whose collection did not reach the creators managed through Wegow. According to estimates, about a hundred authors can benefit from these achievements, which will be provided individually after evaluating each case.

To request help, injured people must send their request to [email protected], accompanied by documentation, accredited economic damage, as well as information about their recent professional activities. SGAE guarantees a “transparent and object” process in assessing each request, taking into account the volume of default and the creative work of each participant.

Assistance program for affected artists

Thus, SGAE is one of the first teams in response to the blockade of income caused by the Wegow crisis. Until now, the lack of an official publication of the preliminary concentration of creditors in BOE, as the UATAE legal group understood, has detained possible legal actions coordinated by organizations such as the Union of Associations of Autonomous Workers and Entrepreneurs, which group more than 200 and contribute to pressure measures to open the basics of payments.

The announcement of SGAE will strive to help this circumstance. “From SGAE, we want to demonstrate our support to all authors and authors inflicted on the victims of this situation and who, despite difficulties, continued to fulfill their audience,” the statement said. Artists such as Yoli SAA have already stated that although “they are complex moments”, they would not cancel the tour, as the main decision was among the victims: “We see you in each of the cities that remains worse as planned.”
