A shooting took place today at the head office of Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer, located in the Romanov Dvoru business centre in Moscow. Vladislav Bakalchuk, the husband of Tatyana Bakalchuk, the founder of the company, tried to break into the building.

According to witnesses, after Vladislav Bakalchuk was denied entry, a conflict broke out and shots were heard. As a result of the shooting, three people were injured by gunfire.
Police and emergency personnel immediately rushed to the scene. The injured were hospitalized and office workers were evacuated.
Representatives of “Wildberries” called the incident an attempt at illegal intervention. Tatyana Bakalchuk appealed to law enforcement agencies and asked them to take charge of the situation.
Several people have already been arrested in connection with the incident.
“Several people have been detained and all have been transferred to the Department of Internal Affairs in the Arbat region,” law enforcement officials said.
It should be recalled that in mid-June Wildberries announced a merger with the Russian Group, the largest operator of outdoor advertising in the country. They created a new joint venture – LLC RVB. Almost all market assets were transferred to Tatyana Bakalchuk.
Then there was a scandal in the Bakalchuk family: the husband of Tatyana Bakalchuk, the founder of the company, opposed the merger of “Wildberries” and “Russ”. In early August, the businessman asked to return the main domain of the Internet company “Wildberries” previously transferred to “RVB” LLC for joint use and to check the legality of granting rights to trademarks. Recently he announced that he intends to fight for the company to the end.
