Sinner’s response to WADA after learning of the sanction request: “I am very disappointed”

He ‘Case of the Sinnerhas taken a 180º turn in recent hours. THE World Anti-Doping Agency (AMA) announced the decision to file a motion for disqualification for Jannick Sinner for its positive clostebol last March.

The Italian admitted that he had known about WADA’s intentions for days and responded to the accusations at a press conference: “Obviously I am very disappointedHowever, with this appeal, I was very surprised because we had three hearings during the whole process with the ITIA and all three were positive for me. I didn’t expect it, honestly.“.

“They informed me two days ago that they were going to present this appeal and they told me that the news would be made public today. I don’t know, maybe only to the World Anti-Doping Agency. They want to make sure everything is correctbut it was a surprise for me. There are things that cannot be controlled,” Sinner concluded.

WADA considered that the ITIA verdict, which exonerated the world number one, was not applicable given the current rules. The body asks between one and two years of exclusion for Jannick who continues to defend his innocence.

I have nothing to hide and I will cooperate everything I can to prove my innocence again. It is difficult let’s see what we gain by asking another group of judges to examine the same facts and documents again,” added the tennis player in a statement published on his social networks.
