Saadat Aliyeva, sister of Rukhsara Aliyeva, former director of the Baku Faculty of Economics and Humanities, was arrested.
Qafqazinfo reports that S. Aliyeva, who worked as a laboratory director at the university, was handcuffed on August 29 at the Sharur district court in Nakhchivan MR. She was found guilty under Article 178.2.4 (large-scale fraud) of the Criminal Code.
According to the court’s verdict, Saadat Aliyeva was sentenced to 2 years and 2 months in prison.
It was reported that S. Aliyeva had previously been charged with fraud. However, in 2022, the court sentenced him to restriction of liberty and an electronic bracelet was placed on him. However, later, the student of Nakhchivan State University appealed to law enforcement agencies and said that Saadat Aliyeva had also committed fraud against him. After that, a criminal case was opened against S. Aliyeva again. It turned out that he received 8,500 manat for falsely promising to transfer the student to the Faculty of International Relations of the Baku University of Economics.
